I found another challenge blog – Just Add Ink. The challenge this week was Baby. Mmmmm, I discovered that baby cards are not really my thing! I really struggled with this one and in the end I have created a card that isn’t particularly baby at all but I still like it! My brother and sister in law had a baby in August and I have been so busy with work and study that I had not gotten around to sending them a card yet (slack!). So, I abandoned the crappy baby card I was working on for the challenge and decided just to make a card that I could send them to congratulate them on the arrival of their baby girl.
I stamped a Kaiser script stamp onto white card with a Distress Ink (Sage I think?). The papers are a mix of Making Memories and Kaiser. The pink patterned paper here was actually a cream colour and I have inked it pink. Butterfly punch is Martha Stewart, flower punches are EK Success. And I added some white paint to the edges of the pink cardstock to tone down the pink.
So, I am loving the challenges I am finding on blogs! Last night I came across the CASE Study Challenge Blog. The cards on there are beautiful!
Here is my entry. I really enjoyed making this one.
I used Kaiser papers and embellishments. I stamped a Stamp It stamp on the circle with Walnut Stain Distress Ink (love that colour).
I came across the CAS-ual Fridays blog today and found a challenge that I wanted to do. It is the first challenge I have ever done 🙂
The challenge was to create a clean and simple card measuring no larger than 4×4. Well, I made a card that measures exactly 4×4 and it took me less than 10 minutes to make – simple!
I have used Kaiser papers, flower, bling and pearls. There’s also a Making Memories paper in there. I inked each piece with Tim Holtz (walnut stain I think). And I added some gems to the flower. I have to say I loved making a small card! So quick and easy.
Now, let’s see if I can work out how to link this post to the challenge blog 😉
And then I am off to visit the Annabelle Stamps blog.
I have been thinking about starting a blog for a long time now….you can’t rush these things!
A place where I can share my creations and write about daily life as it unfolds. I have always been a journaler and I see blogging as an extension of that. It will also be a place where I can save links to places I discover on the web that I love – and share with anyone who chooses to read my ramblings.
A little about me – I am a thirty something dreamer 🙂 mum to 1, sister to 1 and friend to many. I love reading, cooking, scrapbooking, cardmaking, jewellery making and playing with my camera. I cherish time spent with family and friends. I crave a simple life and am actively pursuing that. No longer do I see that busy = successful. I am currently studying psychology and absolutely love my studies and what I am learning. After having my own business (scrapbook shop) for the past seven years with my friend I am now enjoying the less stressful life of working for someone. It has made way for more time with my daughter ♥
I would love to hear about YOU! Leave me a comment with a link to your blog if you have one, I’d love to check it out 🙂
Today I made my first Christmas card for the year. I LOVE Christmas (who doesn’t really!).
I got my heat gun and embossing powders out that I have not played with for ages. After cuttlebugging the red panel I rubbed Versamark over the raised parts and sprinkled white embossing powder on. I love the texture this gives.
I think I might make some more cards this afternoon. It’s a lazy day here today so playing in my craft room sounds good.
I hope you are having a great weekend too!
